Hot yoga for beginners can feel intimidating – especially if you think the goal is to “tough it out.”
At Urban, heat is a tool, not a test. It can support focus, release, and strength, but only when you’re listening to your body. And as we settle into this new season across two locations, you can choose heat when it supports you, and choose something gentler when it doesn’t.
Hydrate early. Bring water. Eat lightly if you need to. Wear what you can move in – nothing fancy required.
Start slower than you think you should. Let breath lead. If you feel dizzy or overwhelmed, pause in child’s pose, take a knee, or step out. Rest counts.
Give yourself a few minutes to land. Heat can bring up emotion as much as sweat – be gentle with what surfaces.
If heat isn’t what you need today, that’s not failure. That’s skill.
Choose the class that supports you now – and keep coming back.
