Black history and wellness aren’t separate stories. They’re braided.
In February, many of us reflect on what our communities have carried; what we’ve protected, created, and refused to let be erased. Place matters in that reflection.
Our home on Welton Street has held many chapters over time. Today, it embodies movement, breath, and a practice rooted in community healing.
This matters because wellness isn’t neutral. It’s shaped by who feels safe, who feels seen, and whose traditions are respected. When we honour cultural wisdom, we’re not adding “diversity” to yoga. We’re returning to truth.
This month, if you’re practicing with us, consider a small ritual: enter with gratitude, leave with intention, and carry collective care into your week.If you want to read more about our story and why preservation is part of liberation, you can explore our “About” page anytime.
